(PT) STEAM EDUCATION SPECIALIST ($18.25/HR)
The STEAM Engine, a fast-growing 501(c)3 nonprofit STEM and Arts education startup, is looking for a visionary, dynamic, results-oriented educator who is dedicated to educational equity to join our growing team as our STEAM Education Specialist. This role reports to the Founder/Executive Director and will be responsible for formalizing the STEAM Engine’s educational philosophy; developing curriculum; training part-time STEAM Instructors, and delivering STEAM- and maker-themed lessons to PK-12 students in after-school programs across the greater Oklahoma City metro. As an early member of the STEAM Engine team, you will work alongside the Founder/Executive Director to build hands-on, community-driven STEAM Programs from the ground up. You will have the unique opportunity to establish the STEAM Engine’s pedagogical framework—laying the foundation for how we facilitate interdisciplinary, project-based learning in the years ahead. This is the ideal position for an educator or master teacher who wants to have the flexibility, creativity, and ownership to design the “what” and “how” of the educational approach behind the STEAM Engine’s “why.” We’re constantly innovating and refining our program strategy, and you’ll play a huge role in it. Come build the future with us! To sum up, we are looking for an inspirational, visionary educator who has demonstrated experience building and delivering STEM and Arts curriculum to a variety of PK-12 students. If you are ready to meet the challenge of building the next great statewide youth education institution with a talented team of kind hearts and a big vision for the next generation of Oklahoma youth, please apply. |

Expectations
At the STEAM Engine, we believe that is important to reflect our position in the community as the STEAM Education experts in the way we dress and present ourselves. It also mirrors the level of professionalism expected in many STEAM industries and workplaces.
Our workday is fluid; you may go from a staff meeting, to unboxing and packing materials to a formal donor meeting all in the span of a few hours. To that end, we have developed a flexible dress code and uniform policy based on the setting in which we find ourselves on a daily basis.
We recommend keeping a change of clothes nearby so that you can adjust as needed based on the task at hand.
