The STEAM Engine, Inc. Inc.
“The STEAM Engine, Inc.” operates a website at www.STEAMengineOKC.org. It is the STEAM Engine’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our website. If you have questions about deleting or correcting your personal data please contact our support team.

Website Visitors
Like most website operators, the STEAM Engine collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. The STEAM Engine’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how The STEAM Engines visitors use its website. From time to time, the STEAM Engine may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

The STEAM Engine also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on articles published. The STEAM Engine only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.

Personally-Identifying Information
Certain visitors to The STEAM Engine’s websites choose to interact with The STEAM Engine in ways that require the STEAM Engine to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that the STEAM Engine gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up for e-newsletters to provide a name and email address.

Those who engage in transactions with the STEAM Engine— by making donations, for example — are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, the STEAM Engine collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with the STEAM Engine. The STEAM Engine does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. Visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Child Protection
The STEAM Engine does not offer the website to, or knowingly collect or solicit information from, anyone under the age of 13. If you are under 13, do not provide us with any information. Any information we receive from people we believe to be under 13 will be purged from our database.

Aggregated Statistics
The STEAM Engine may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its website. For instance, the STEAM Engine may monitor the most popular pages and articles on the www.STEAMengineOKC.org site. The STEAM Engine may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, the STEAM Engine does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Ads
Any Ads appearing on our website may be delivered to users by advertising partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement to compile information about you or others who use your computer. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by the STEAM Engine and does not cover the use of cookies by any such advertisers.

Protection of Information
The STEAM Engine discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that:
  1. need to know that information in order to process it on the STEAM Engine’s behalf or to provide services available at the STEAM Engine’s websites, and
  2. that have agreed not to disclose it to others.
Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using the STEAM Engine’s website, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. The STEAM Engine will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone.

Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, the STEAM Engine discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when the STEAM Engine believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of the STEAM Engine, third parties or the public at large.

If you have requested to receive communication from the STEAM Engine and have supplied your email address, the STEAM Engine may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with the STEAM Engine and our services.

The STEAM Engine, Inc. takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
